The J-10c Chinese fighter-jet has been through extensive development and upgrades in recent years. The J-10 c is a multi-role modern aircraft capable of performing strike missions and air-to-air fighting. It is capable at destroying targets at high altitude and speed, as well as being able to carry weapons during an air-to–air engagement.
It is an extremely powerful aircraft, capable of competing with more expensive western light aircraft like the F-16 Block 70/72. It is able to offer higher kill probabilities, better off bore shooting capability, greater tolerance and longer range for its short-range rockets. It has a lower cost, which could appeal to the Pakistan Air Force because it is one the largest foreign users F-16.
China began exporting J-10C fighters into Pakistan in early 2015. They are being used by the PAF as a demonstration platform. They can carry long-range missiles and have an active electronic scanned array (AESA), which can also be used to carry air-to–air PL-10/PL-15 missiles.
It can also carry air-launched weapons like anti-ship missiles or precision guided bombs. The jet is powered by the Shenyang WS-10B turbofan engine. Although the aircraft is not stealthy in nature, it is an important military weapon that has proved to be a reliable platform for Chinese air force weapons.
As the Chinese economy has become more unstable and the Chinese government has faced tougher political challenges, China has looked to bolster its defense capabilities. This has increased the demand for Chinese-made planes. This has given the Chengdu J-10 a very strong following and it is currently the pinnacle of Chinese fighter design.
Although the j-10 has come under fire, it remains one the most potent and powerful indigenous designs in China. There have been rumors that the aircraft is a clone of the IAI Lavi design, enhanced through access to Pakistani F-16A examples, but even cursory analysis indicates that this is not true.
The J-10 is also a highly technologically advanced fighter aircraft. As China expands its aviation industry, it will likely receive more updates. The aircraft has been able to adapt to the changing requirements of its users by adding terrain-following radar, sturdier hardpoints and more sophisticated targeting and navigation systems.
Its performance is much better than it was in the past. The new j-10 c can reach speeds of up 495 km/h and has a higher RCS than its predecessor. This makes it one of the fastest J-10s in service, and it can engage enemy planes at higher speeds than any other model.
The j-10 c's dorsal "big spine" configuration, which can house many sensors and other systems, is another major improvement. This would give the j-10 a higher payload capacity and more room for fuel than many of its competitors.
