In the 1980s, there was a new genre of anime: Real Robot. This subgenre was all about technological realism. It was influenced by the Japanese anime series Mobile Suit Gundam, which featured giant robots in realistic military situations.
The Real Robot subgenre, also known as walking tanks or walking machines, is also called "walking robots" or "walking cars". These robots tend to be smaller and more simplistic in appearance than the typical Super Robot. Instead of being a single robot, they are a vehicle that is piloted by special characters. These characters can be mercenaries or military personnel. They often have ranged weapons. They are also more mobile, and have a higher level of defense. They are often expensive to keep. They are often destroyed in a number of pointless ways. They are usually manufactured by corporations or the military.
Mobile Suit Gundam or Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu, are two of the most popular Real Robot series. These series center on a certain character piloting an actual robot. The characters have a special bond with the robot. They may also be able to have special abilities. Some robots are magic, others are historical relics.
A few Super Robots are making a comeback in anime. However, they have not been as prominent as they once were. This is due in part to the fact that the genre has evolved. Gundam was one of the first anime series featuring a robotic soldier in a realistic military setting. The series also introduced a new franchise that features teenage pilots using giant robots in battle. Command & Conquer: Tiberium also features a popular example.
The history of giant robots has been a long one. This history includes successes, failures and remakes. This history will be with us for decades to come. It is hard to predict what the future holds in the mecha world. However, it is certain that the mecha genre will continue to exist for some time. Mazinger Z, a manga series that inspired the Real Robot genre, was also inspiration. This series was also the first to feature an enormous robot as the main character. This manga became very popular and was eventually made into an anime series. The manga depicted realistically war. The manga became the basis for the anime series, which resulted in a great large-scale robot franchise.
The series' main characters are portrayed as having special powers, but most of them are trained for one specific type of Gear. Gears are a type or armor that does not have a lot of firepower. They are often treated like light tanks. The Gears are also usually unable to be interchanged, so most pilots are trained for a single type of Gear.
The history of giant robots is one that will live on for many decades. Whether they become magical, relics of the past, or the future of humanity, they will be with us for a long time to come.
