A military robotics machine is one that was designed to replace human soldiers. These machines do not need to be fed, sleep, or hide from the elements. They do not have feelings, passions or emotions. It is possible to reduce the amount of unethical behavior soldiers can display. Aside from that, they are not subject to the same strains, fatigue, stress and fatigue as human soldiers.
AVATAR III
The AVATAR III military robot is a highly customizable unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The robot is equipped with a plug and play payload bay, allowing users to configure the robot to fit their specific needs. The robot can target, detect and eliminate moving forces and is completely customizable. In addition, the AVATAR III has the same tactical capabilities as its larger counterpart, the AVATAR III Tactical Robot. It has dual IR and LED lights, and a robust and drop-resistant chassis.
The capabilities of the AVATAR III are vast and go far beyond battlefield. It will help first responders and law enforcement better respond to hazardous situations. It is very rugged and highly customizable. It has two-way audio and can operate on multiple wireless channels simultaneously. It can navigate through a wide range of terrain and environments making it an ideal choice for law enforcement or combat missions.
REDOWL
iRobot is currently developing REDOWL, a military robot. It is based on neural-network circuitry which mimics the behavior of nerve cells. The REDOWL, however, does not have a programming language. Instead, it must learn through trial and error. It can recognize gunshots, and it can guess the direction of sound. The animal is then given the difference between its guess and the location of the sound, and it runs another trial. It gradually learns from this experience and develops a 'neural connection' with the sound source.
The REDOWL military robotic has an array of acoustic, optics and other systems to locate the source of gunfire. It is also attached to a packbot which is a mini robot tank. A modified Xbox controller controls the robot. It can enter dangerous buildings and spot gunfire in milliseconds. It comes with two wide-angle cameras, as well as a thermal image camera that can pinpoint targets. It is ideal for urban surveillance, hostage/barcade situations and perimeter protection missions.
MUTT
The MUTT robotic military robot is versatile and can be used to assist ground forces during combat as well as for remote operations. The advanced technology of the MUTT makes it an ideal tool to ease the burden of ground troops. It can also be remotely controlled and operated by telecommand and can enhance combat power projection and stand-off from enemies. Flexible design allows it to adapt to new payloads, controllers and higher levels of autonomy.
GDLS designed the MUTT, a military robot that is based on SMMET (Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport) program. This program is designed for autonomous operations to change the paradigm of manned-unmanned warfare. It is planned to be in service with IBCTs by the end of 2022. It can carry out direct and indirect fire, autonomous replenishment, and EW missions. It is also capable of counter-drone operations.
BigDog
Boston Dynamics is working on a military robotic called BigDog. It will be capable of traveling long distances while carrying soldiers and supplies. BigDog is able to cross terrains and traverse minefields. This makes it an ideal way to strengthen a unit without putting them in danger. Its dependable and sturdy design allows it to carry a wide variety of items.
Boston Dynamics, the company that created the BigDog, worked with DARPA in order to improve the military robotics. The BigDog is a military robot that can cross many types of terrains, and provide supplies for soldiers in the field. Another DARPA-sponsored military robot, called AlphaDog, is a seven-ton robot that has been designed to spearhead combat formations.
