The Arab Spring is something that everyone has heard about, no matter if you're a soldier or not. It was actually a successful revolution, which saw the end of civil war in Syria. It's not unusual to find a study on this subject in your local library. This is especially true in the case of those working in the health-care industry.
The study was done in Northern Tunisia, which is very similar to the US. It compares the pre- and post-revolution tally of suicide and homicide. According to the aforementioned study, the number of homicides in Northern Tunisia was 1.8 per 100,000 people per year, but that number skyrocketed to 3.12 per 100,000 people per year after the aforementioned revolution. Also, suicides rose by 1.7 percent after the revolution. This is a statistically significant increase and is not only a cause for concern for the government, but for the country's aforementioned youth. Due to both increasing rates of death, healthcare systems across the nation will need to adapt to meet these challenges.
