In military weapons news this month, Turkey announced plans for a new loitering weapon. It will appear at a defense show in Istanbul in 2022. Defense companies are big on the technology, as it typically costs between $50,000 to $150,000. However, the technology still requires more development before it can be fully fielded. It may be able to help the U.S. Air Force establish more bases in remote areas if it succeeds.
The principal killer of canon artillery
Cannon artillery is one of the most deadly military weapons on the battlefield. It was responsible to two-thirds (or more) of all fatalities and injuries in World War I. It caused severe damage to entire bodies, dismemberment and even death. In addition, the blast often resulted in concussions and shell shock. Another source of wounding was shooting and gas attacks.
