Polish Tank PL 01

military trick to fall asleep

OBRUM Systems' advanced tank, the PL-01 was developed in collaboration with BAE Systems. It was first shown in 2013 and is based off the Swedish CV90120T medium truck. It has a primary weapons consisting of a either 105mm, or 120mm cannon in an unmanned turret.

Adaptiv Technology

According to reports, the new Polish tank pl 01 can "cloak" its radar and heat signatures to fool enemy sensors. This is similar to what Boeing used for Bird Of Prey. The entire vehicle is believed to be covered in radio-absorbing material and fitted with an exhaust cooling system. These are both intended to make it harder for detection.

Invisible Armor

The armor of this tank is said to be so effective at absorbing radiation that it is virtually invisible to enemy radars. It is also said to be able to regulate the temperature of its armored surfaces and fool thermal sensors.

Modern tanks consider Adaptiv technology a significant advancement. It conceals vehicles much better than traditional radar reflecting coatings. The Adaptiv system uses hexagonal Peltier plates to cover the vehicle's surface. These plates can absorb or reflect sunlight, rendering it virtually indestructible at night or during bad weather.

It is also believed to be capable of fooling both the infrared and visual sensors. The Adaptiv Technology is believed to have the ability to reduce the radar signatures and heat signatures in the PL-01. However it is not known how this will work, or what it will do for the vehicle.

Polish Army

The Polish army currently owns around 900 main-battle tanks. The most common are the PT-91 Twardys, and Leopard 2s. The PL-01, a modern tank with interesting features, will be a key vehicle for the Polish military.

This tank is designed to be a direct fire support vehicle with a capacity of three crew members and is meant to work well in confined spaces, such as urban combat zones. It comes equipped with a smoothbore cannon of either 105mm to 120mm that can fire conventional rounds or anti-tank guided bullets. The autoloader can hold 29 rounds, while the turret can store 16 additional rounds.

Other armament options include a 7.62mm weapon gun, a remote-controlled weapons station, and an automatic 40mm grenade rocketer.

Obrum, with technical support from British conglomerate BAE Systems, is currently developing the PL-01. It is a 7 meter long, 3.8 meter wide and 2.8 meter high vehicle with a standard weight of 30 tons and can increase to 35 tons with additional armor panels.

Interior

The interior of the PL-01 is designed to be comfortable and convenient for the crew. It contains a "crewmembers’ safety capsule" that is built into the chassis. Multilayer ceramic-aramid armor protects the crew. Modern crew seats reduce the damage from IED blasts. The hull has been protected from STANAG4569 Level 4a and 4, and also has an Anti-Mine coating for all sides.
