Today's army robots can perform a variety of tasks for the military. Some are autonomous and others are remotely controlled. They can be used to transport, rescue and attack. They can be equipped using various weapons or sensors. They could also be part the military's ground force.
Centaur
The Centaur army robot, an unmanned ground vehicle capable of disarming explosives, landmines and other threats is called the Centaur. It has a modular payload and an advanced electro-optic/infrared camera suite. It can also detect chemical, biological and nuclear threats. It is equipped with a manipulator arm that can reach objects up six feet in distance. These features allow it support a variety manned as well unmanned operations.
Centaur army bots can be deployed in many situations. They can be used in domestic and international conflicts. Unexploded ordinance is being removed in Ukraine for example.
SAFFiR
The SAFFiR robot army is a small-to medium mobile robotic device that has a range of sensors. It is designed for use in tandem with Navy personnel. It has advanced sensors that include infrared stereo vision, a rotating laser that sees through smoke, and a rotating laser. This allows it to avoid being knocked down by fire.
Programming can be done on the SAFFiR armoured robot to complete complex tasks like identifying fires and fighting them. They are also designed with human-like gestures, and natural language responses.
DOGO
DOGO army robots are designed for close quarter combat. They can carry a pistol or non-lethal pepper sprayed and can be controlled via a point-and shoot interface. A dazzler module is included as well as a microphone for audio communication. The DOGO design has been approved by the Israeli defense ministry and counterterrorism unit. It is expected that the DOGO will be delivered this year to special forces. These robots pack easily into backpacks and are lightweight.
The DOGO army robot is equipped with a battery that lasts from two to five hours. It has eight cameras with 360-degree coverage. It also comes equipped with a fully loaded Glock 26 pistol. Picatinny Rails are also available, which allow it to carry accessories. These include a dazzler that blinds attackers for a short time and a dazzler.
