It was initially designed to serve the United States Army. However, it was later modified for international customers.
PL-01 is a tracked car

This vehicle is capable to climb steep hills, negotiate engineered and natural trenches upto 2.6m in width, and can even negotiate difficult terrain. Its automatic gearbox helps it maintain a high rate of fire, and the main gun can fire up to six rounds per minute. It is capable of navigating water depths up to five metres (16 feet). Depending on its configuration, the machine may reach speeds of 50 km/h (14.3 mph) when on rough terrain. It can also reach speeds of 70 km/h (74.3 mph) when on paved roads. The machine's range can extend up to 500 km.
It will be made in Poland
The PL-01, a new battle tank designed for Poland's armed force, is now available. It includes a fully-automated turret, a fully-automatic 120mm gun, anti-aircraft MG and active countermeasures.
