Real Life Cyborgs

Cyborgs have been around since the dawn of time. Many advanced technologies and prosthetics have been developed to accommodate various disabilities. It is a fascinating topic that has been discussed a lot in past.

Cyborgs are a combination of human biology and technological advancements that enhance a person's senses, abilities, or body parts, often with the help of a computer-assisted brain. Although they can display many characteristics, such as enhanced senses and superhuman strength, it is possible for them to also have cybernetic enhancements more human-like.

Many people have cybernetic enhancements and you will often see them in movies, TV shows, and books. Some implants look more human than others, and some are made from adamantium such as Wolverine, Sabertooth or Sabertooth.

Vietnam War vets who lost their arms in battle or who were affected by Locked-In Syndrome are some of the first Cyborgs. Johnny Ray was the first known Cyborg. This was a soldier with an implanted brain that allowed him to communicate with the outside.

He was a proponent of bringing cyborgs into mainstream culture and even helped popularize the term. He is the co-founder, as well as an active cyborg activist.

Kevin Warwick, an Emeritus Professor of Cybernetics at University of Reading, England is another notable cyborg researcher. He has many different cybernetic technologies within his body. He is equipped with a chip in the arm that allows him connect wirelessly to computers, to control robots and to sense ultrasonic sound wave waves.

His technology can also assist people who have lost their senses as a result of illness, injury or degenerative diseases. His system, known as sensory substitution, can replace one sense (eyes) with an electronic device.

Neil Harbisson from Britain, who was born blind to colors and is able perceive color through an antenna implanted permanently in his brain, are other examples of real-life cyborgs. He is a Cyborg activist, and founded the Cyborg Foundation. This non-profit organization promotes cyborg rights as well as supports research into the topic.

He received an implant in his brain which allows him to see colors beyond that of the average human. He also has a foot implant that allows him to sense earthquakes from any place on the planet via the Internet. He combines both technologies to create dance shows in which he uses the vibrations to create art.

There are many cyborgs that aren't medically diagnosed. Instead, they are simply born with new technologies. Some of them are incredibly talented artists who use their cyborg abilities to inspire other people to become a cyborg.

The latest trends in cyborg technologies show that there are no limits to what technology can do. Cybernetic eye implants can record images and videos. Cyborg tattoos are a growing trend that can instantly turn on and off to alter their appearance.
