
Point Mugu Sea Range is the Navy's centre for electronic warfare expertise, just off the coast of Southern California. San Nicolas Island's 36,000-square mile area of instrumented sea, air, and space allows for the development and operation of guided missiles, electronic warfare systems, and free-fall weapons.

The Point Mugu Sea Range's management is done by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. This division also serves as the Department of the Navy’s centre of electronic warfare expertise. It offers logistical support and in-service support to guided missiles, free fall weapons, targets, support equipment and electronic warfare technology.
NAWCWD manages more than 1.1million acres of land ranges, multiple weapons development labs at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake (150 miles north of Los Angeles). It also maintains a 36,000-square meter sea test range at Point Mugu as well as a large West Coast test range at San Nicolas Island. These ranges are both off the coast of Southern California.
NAS Point Mugu and nearby Naval Construction Battalion Center Port Hueneme became Naval Base Ventura County in 2000. The installation houses the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, and three warfare centers. It also has 80 tenants.

The pt. Mugu Air show 2021 is a great opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings of this region. The Air Show is an excellent way to see Navy's top demonstration teams and Thunderbirds.
A lot of the entertainment at a pt mugu air show is free, but you may want to bring your own snacks or drinks. There are food trucks and other eateries all over the base. You might also enjoy the many wine and beer bars that are open during the night.

Be sure to bring water and sunscreen, no matter if you're visiting the base or attending an air show at pt Mugu. It's important that you are protected as you'll spend a lot of time outside in the sun.
Make sure to bring your binoculars so you can see the Air Show aerial performers from afar. Your binoculars can be used to view the beautiful coastline and hiking trails just outside the base.
