The army robots of today can do a wide range of tasks for the military. Some can be controlled remotely and some are self-contained. They can be used for transport, search & rescue, and attack missions. They can be armed with various weapons and sensors. They could also be part the military's ground force.

Centaur

The Centaur army robot is an unmanned ground vehicle that is capable of disarming explosive devices, landmines and other threats. It has a modular payload and an advanced electro-optic/infrared camera suite. It can also detect chemical, biological and nuclear threats. It has a manipulator arm and can reach objects up to six feet away. These features allow it to support a variety of manned and unmanned operations.

The SAFFiR robot army can be programmed for complex tasks like identifying and fighting fires. They are also designed to use human-like gestures and respond to natural language.

DOGO

DOGO army robots were designed for close-quarter combat. They are operated through a point-and-shoot interface, and have the ability to carry a pistol and non-lethal pepper spray. They can also be equipped with a dazzler and an audio communications microphone. The DOGO design has been approved by the Israeli defense ministry and counterterrorism unit. It is expected that the DOGO will be delivered this year to special forces. These robots are lightweight, and can be packed into a backpack.
