The J20 Combat Aircraft Cockpit uses Metamaterials

military way to fall asleep

The military has many advantages with the J20. The twin-seat version of the J20 is perfect for electronic warfare and bombing. It also comes with a domestic-engine engine, which makes it less dependent on Russian engines. It could be used as a surveillance aircraft, an electronic warfare weapon, or to command wingman drones. The United States Air Force could use the type of aircraft in many situations.

The Chinese military is developing a stealth fighter known as the J-20, which will be able to fly at a top speed of 2,100 kph. It is equipped with two lateral rocket bays that each have four hardpoints. There's also an internal cannon. It also features a chin-mounted infrared/optic search and track sensor and AESA radar.

Metamaterials

CCTV recently aired "Great Country's Great Weapons", a series about military aircraft development. It featured the creation of a new type aircraft that would use metamaterials for its cockpit. J-20 fighter jets and J-16 fighter planes are two examples of aircraft that could benefit from this technology. J-15 aircraft, which is based on a carrier platform, is already in the mass production stage.

Lock-on after launch

The J-20 has four PL-15 medium-to-long-range air-to-air missiles (AAMs). These missiles share a similar profile to the American AIM-120D AMRAAM. They are also equipped with dual-pulsemotors and AESA. Their mission: to penetrate enemy fighter-cover and destroy their enablers.

Configuration of air-to-ground weapons

J-20 combat aircraft demonstrated an innovative missile-launch mechanism at a recent flight demonstration. The new missile-launch mechanism is described as simple and highly effective. J-20 number 200 was equipped with a short air-toair missile (also referred as the PL-10) during the flight. The missile was detached from the aircraft and then deployed outside via an ejection device.

Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter

The Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter cockpit measures 23 meters long with a diameter measuring two meters. It has a carved nose, and a transparent canopy. While it is not entirely clear what its primary mission is, it is likely to break through enemy fighter cover to knock out its enablers.
